The Study of A utomobile Insurance Application in Using Oriental Medicine to the Traffic Accident Patients

Abstract
Objectives: This study was designed to find out the difference between automobile insurance applicable case and inapplicable case and to expand the territory of oriental medicine in traffic accident patients.

Method: We analyzed statistical study in 131 patients, who had been treated Out Patient Dept. of oriental rehabilitation medicine, Kangnam oriental medical hospital, Dong Guk University from December, 2002 to Nivember, 2003 according to medical charts.

Results and Conclusions: 1. In distribution of sex and age, the rate of male was 45%, and that of female was 55%. Twenties to forties numbered the most(84%).
2. In distribution of the treatment frequency, 1-5 times were 51.1%, 6-10 times were 17.6%, 11-15 times were 10.7%, 16-20 times were 9.1%, over 21 times were 11.5% and mean treatment frequency was 10.5 times.
3. In distribution of patients who were automobile insurance applicable and inapplicable, the case of applicable treatment was 28.3%, that of inapplicable treatment was 3.8% and that of both was 67.9%.
4. In distribution of the automobile insurance inapplicable treatment rate in total costs, 10%-20% was 19.1%, 20%-30% was 33.6%, 30-40% was 16.9%, 40-50% was 5.6% and over 50% was 7.9%.
